Pastor Roderick Toliver

I was born August 14, 1964, in the city of Los Angeles, California to the proud parents of Joe Louis (may he rest in heaven) and Mary Toliver.   He is the youngest of three siblings: his sisters are Yvette Young and Michelle Pennerman.

Roderick received his elementary and grade school education through the Vallejo Unified School Districts. He graduated from Vallejo Senior High – 1982.  Desiring to further his education, Pastor Toliver attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise, in San Francisco where he received an Associate of Arts Degree in Interior Design.  Although very educated in the books, Pastor Toliver wanted to make sure his Christian Education was complete, so he attended C.H. Mason Bible College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education.

At the age of 13 Roderick attended a noon day prayer with his playmate Pastor Harold and Mother Mary Johnson to a noonday prayer where his life changed.  At the age of 15 Pastor Toliver was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost.  Pastor Toliver heard the clarion from God to preach and was ordained by the late Bishop Stewart in June 1994.  Pastor Toliver was a faithful servant at the Old Path Miracle Cathedral for over 20 years.

In 1992 he married the love of his life, Grace Ann Johnson, the daughter of the late Supt. Harold and Mary Johnson.  To this GOD ordained union, two young men were born: Roderick Louis Toliver II, and Jordan Isaac Harold Toliver.

Pastor Toliver was called by God to be the Pastor of Temple of Faith Church of God in Christ in the city of Vallejo California and held his first service on July 15, 2007.  After an unexpected death of his dear and close friend Pastor Steve Thorner in December 2019, Pastor Toliver was asked to assume to the responsibility of Pastoring Ennis Chapel Church of God in Christ.  In March 2020 Temple of Faith transitioned to Ennis Chapel Church of God in Christ where two families became one.
